Turnabout Is Fairy Cosplay: A Rom-Com
Book 2 of the Escape to Love Series
A sassy booklover, a supervillain cosplayer, and one beachy small town. Beatrice McKinney has always been prickly, but things have gone from bad to worse since she moved back home to Del Mar and started working at her dad’s law firm. It wouldn’t be so bad if Mike Benedick, a cosplayer at her brother’s escape room, hadn’t gotten under Bea’s skin—calling her a cactus, flirting, daring her to dream of a life she doesn’t have to escape with copious amounts of fiction. Bea may hate the messenger, but she can’t ignore the message.
Burned out but determined to build a life she loves, Bea quits her job and moves into a place of her own—a charming beach cottage in La Jolla with a landlord who has the most impressive collection of lovingly annotated books Bea has ever seen. She’d sign a lease just to meet this smart, thoughtful soul. She can certainly overlook the fact that the cottage shares a lot with a beach house that is currently under renovation. A little dust and noise are no big deal, especially if it means Bea might see more of her mysterious, intriguing landlord.
Just one problem: Mike Benedick is Bea’s landlord, and he’s living in the beach house during the renovations. Now Bea has to live next door to a man she loathes in real life but has fallen hard for in the margins of fiction.
Turnabout Is Fair Cosplay is a fun, sweet, sassy, no-spice contemporary romance. It is a standalone novel, but readers familiar with the Escape to Love Series may recognize a few characters from My Cosplay Escape.

Content Advisory
Not every book is for every reader, and that is okay! Below is my content advisory. Please read gently and know that this author respects all reader preferences.
If lawsuits, intentionally alluring cosplay costumes, pregnancy announcements (from happily married characters), mention of loss of parent to cancer, and mild family tension are triggering, this book is probably not for you.
The word “sexy” is repeatedly used. The words “kinky” and “safe word” are humorously used. At one point a character jokes about kissing with tongue, but kiss scenes do not include descriptions of tongues. If you have standards regarding tongues, err on the side of caution and maybe do not read this book.
There is a character who gives unsolicited advice to other characters with tarot cards. It is a reoccurring joke, used in a silly, non-occult way, but if you take tarot cards very seriously maybe this book isn’t for you.
Most of the beverages enjoyed in this book are nonalcoholic. However, alcohol is mentioned, and a minor character gets drunk at one point.
While there is no swearing in this book, there is one well known quote from Shakespeare about the underworld being empty. Shakespeare is frequently quoted and celebrated in this story. Please read with great caution, if Shakespeare is triggering for you.
There are no open-door, spice, or sexually explicit scenes in this book. This book may not be for you if you expect those scenes in your romances.
It is the opinion of this author that the content of this book matches a PG film rating. This book may not be for you if you only enjoy G rated films.
Wishing you safe and happy reading always!
