(I adore cookies. I also adore collecting handwritten recipes. This recipe has been in my care for a while now, but I held off on making these until this last weekend. I’m not sure what I was waiting for… Maybe I was scared I wouldn’t remember these cookies? Maybe I was worried I wouldn’t like them as an adult. But my grandpa had good taste, and my grandma was a legend in and out of the kitchen. I had nothing to worry about. Excellent with or without nuts. Also, my daughter and I both agree these are even better the second day. )
1 can sweetened condensed milk
12 oz. dark chocolate chips
2 tsp butter
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Combine milk, chocolate chips, and butter in a large glass bow, mix, place in microwave on high for 1 to 1/2 min (or until chocolate is melted).
Remove, stir in flour, vanilla, and cup of chopped nuts (if desired).
Drop by tsp on buttered cookie sheets. Bake 10 – 12 minutes at 350 degrees F – Do NOT overbake!
